Multiple Language Support
Purpose: Allows presenting an online intake or external forms in languages other than English.
- LegalServer has limited, built-in translations of some system text. Site administrators will need to provide translations for lookup values, field labels, form instruction elements, etc.
- Data entered by an applicant or other person, for example in a note field, is not translated.
Cost:
Costs are per site. If you want language support on an online intake site and on a primary site for external forms, the initial setup cost and any additional languages will be doubled.
- One-time setup fee per site (includes one additional language): $2,500.
- Additional supported languages: $250 per language.
- Currently available/supported languages: Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Chinese (Simplified), Dari, Farsi, French, Kreyòl Ayisyen (Haitian), Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Myanmar, Norwegian Bakmol, Pashto, Persian (Iran), Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
- New language not listed above: $2,500.
File a Support Request (Help menu > Support Request) from your site to request initial setup, additional languages, or for a new language.

Process Language Block
Displays a dropdown list of available languages, which will set the language for various parts of the intake or external forms. The block has a configuration that makes the selection also set the applicant's Language (as in the language they speak).
Typically placed on the first page of an online intake or external process with an instruction element in each offered language asking the person to select their language.
Translating Lookup Values and Form Elements
Lookups
Many lookup values can be translated. Edit a lookup as you normally would from the Admin > Lookups page.
Field Labels
Field labels on forms will have an option for each enabled language. In this example, for Spanish:
Instruction Elements
Instruction element text will have an option for each enabled language:
Form Titles
Form titles and subsection titles will have an option for each enabled language:
Individual Fields
Many system and custom fields will also have options for each language when edited from the Admin > System Field Management page. This can be useful for words/phrases that are displayed by blocks:
System Translation Page
The System Translation page is where various pieces of text that appear in the interface can be translated.
There is no Admin page link to this page. Add "/system/translation" to the end of your site's URL (like abc.legalserver.org/system/translation).
Click an "N/A" value to add a translation or the existing translation to edit it.
Elements Set by Computer/Browser's Language
Some elements are controlled by the viewer's browser and display in the language of the viewer's computer and browser. For example:
- In the context of uploading files, the "Browse" or "Choose File" button, the phrase "or click below", and the phrase "No File Chosen".
