User Can't Login (for Administrators)
The most common reason is someone is not entering their credentials correctly. So your first step should be sending them a password reset link or manually changing their password.
If you've done that and they say they still can't login, manually change the password, and then try using those credentials yourself in a private/incognito browser window (to avoid a collision with your current cookies).
Checklist
- Check the user's profile to make sure Login Active is Yes.
- If the user's role is not the same as others who can login, check that the role has the Login permission.
- If your site uses IP Address restrictions, check if their user role has the Login permission in both the internal and external permissions sections.
- If the user is logging in via SSO, check with whoever administers that system. So far, 100% of the time someone can't login with SSO it is on that side.
- If your site uses MFA, and they say they aren't getting their code (and others are able to use MFA), they are likely waiting for an email, but configured MFA to get their code via an authentication app.
