Pathfinder - Outreaches & Clinics
This content is geared to agencies onboarding with LegalServer. While most of this content is timeless, relevant, and all around useful, not all of it will be applicable if you are currently live with LegalServer.
This playlist covers both Outreaches and Clinics.
Outreaches
The Outreach module allows you to create a record that you can add time and documents to, affiliate organizations with, and assigned users to, but that is not a case. Some of the more common uses include recording community education events, lobbying efforts, internal and external working groups and tabling or other publicity.
Some agencies also use the outreach modules to record clinic events where there are no specific time slots for a clinic participant to meet one on one with an attorney.
If your agency is going to use the Pro Bono Obligations tool, you will track the CLE sessions that create the obligation through the outreach module.
Typically, the default outcome creation process includes a name, an outreach type, presenters, location, organizations and attendees. However, you can remove any of these, add other fields to capture additional information and create branch logic to hide or display various fields.
Where to Start
- Determine if you are going to use outreaches.
- Decide the types of outreach (or 'presentation types') you are going to track
- Create an outreach- determine what values you will use in each lookup, if any additional information needs to be collected and what can be eliminated.
- Confirm that imported outreaches data appears as expected on your site.
- Make the necessary customizations or communicate customizations to your LegalServer Onboarding Staff
Clinics
If you do have a program that conducts clinic events where there are specific time slots dedicated to participants meeting with an attorney, you may want to consider the clinic module. While this module takes more time to set up for each clinic, it will allow you to create or assign a specific intake process to that clinic (ensuring you collect the correct information for that clinic), schedule multiple appointments for attorneys and participants during one slot, and schedule a clinic participants right from the case profile.
Where to Start
- Determine if you are going to use the clinics module.
- Create one or more clinic- determine what values you will use in each lookup, if any additional information needs to be collected and what can be eliminated.
- Confirm that imported clinics data appears as expected on your site.
- Make the necessary customizations or communicate customizations to your LegalServer Onboarding Staff.
