Outreach Location

Outreach Location Block

The Location Block adds location details to an Outreach form or process. Use it when staff need to record either the physical address of an in-person Outreach or the URL for a web-based Outreach.

Add the Location Block to each Outreach data-entry form where staff should be able to enter or update these details.

Choose A Location Type

The block starts with the Location Type field. Its selection determines the fields that appear below it.

Location Type Fields Shown Use For
In-Person Address fields and Location A physical Outreach venue
Web Web URL An Online Outreach

The built-in Location Block supports the In-Person and Web Location Type values. Other Location Type values do not display additional location fields.

In-Person Outreaches

Select In-Person to enter the Outreach's physical address. The Address fields capture the venue's street address, city, state, ZIP code, and other standard address details used by your site.

The separate Location field is free text. Use it for details that do not belong in the postal address, such as a building name, meeting room, or venue description.

Web Outreaches

Select Web to enter the Web URL for the online Outreach. The physical address and free-text Location fields are not shown while Web is selected.

Changing The Location Type

Changing Location Type hides the fields for the previous type, but does not erase their existing saved values. For example, changing an In-Person Outreach to Web leaves its saved address available if it is changed back to In-Person later. Review and update the fields that apply before saving the Outreach.

Viewing Location Details

On a read-only Outreach Profile, the block shows the selected Location Type and the matching information:

  • In-Person: the formatted address and free-text Location.
  • Web: the Web URL.

Legacy Outreach Profile Fields

The legacy Outreach Profile edit form can include a free-text Location field. That field is not the physical address. Some sites also show City and State on that form, but the Location Block is the standard way to edit the complete physical address.
