SimpleJustice User Login and Registration

Registration & Login

Legal volunteers can register for SimpleJustice by using the Register button.

From there, a user will be taken through the Registration process. They will be asked to complete the following information, which is required unless otherwise noted.

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email address
  • Password (must be at least six characters long)
  • Select a volunteer role  - users may choose the role that best applies to their professional standing
  • Legal Aid Agency -  users can select whether they currently volunteer with an organization, or indicate that they do not currently volunteer with an agency so that they may be connected and associated with one.
  • Additional Volunteer Information - this will depend on the role selected and will ask for information such as additional skills

After completing the registration process, users will be required to confirm their email address via link sent to their email to finalize their Account Activation.  Once they click on this, they will be directed to Sign In, after which their account will be activated. This will allow them to login to the site via the Sign In button going forward.

If a user attempts to login without first registering, they can use the registration link via the Sign In page to create an account to login to the site.

User Profile & Password Management

Once a user has created an account, they can access and manage their SimpleJustice profile. They will need to be approved by a site administrator to access all SimpleJustice features, however.

If a user has forgotten their password, they may trigger a password reset directly to their email via the Change Password functionality, where they will be asked to enter their current and new password.

Users may enter in additional Personal Information and Professional Information.

Work History Information/Education History is where a user can add an affiliation with an organization in SimpleJustice, and work that the user does in SimpleJustice while affiliated with that organization will also be reflected in the SimpleJustice Dashboard for that organization.

Under Account Settings, users can view their SimpleJustice communities, which are groups of legal aid agencies that offer pro bono opportunities and resources. They will also see the legal aid agencies to which they have an association within those communities. They may also add or remove any community organization affiliations

Users must select Save after entering information on each of these sections in order to save their changes to the system.

If logged in to SimpleJustice, a user may return to their profile at any time by clicking on their avatar in the upper right corner.

When a user selects Sign Out from their avatar, the page will resolve back to the customized community external site.
