Managing Grant Filters
Grant filters allow you to determine if a particular grant is available on a case, timeslip, or outreach.
Adding a Filter
In the Actions menu on a grant profile, select the Options sub-menu and click the Add/Edit Filters link.
To add a new filter, first select the module where the filter will be applied. You can select from Case/Matter, Outreach, and Timekeeping.
A Field dropdown will appear. Select the field you want to use as the filter. Enter all or part of a field name in the search box at the top of the list to find a field quickly.
Select the value you want to use as the filter. The grant will only be available in the selected module if the value of the field matches your selection. In this example, the grant will only be available for cases that have a problem code of "037 Domestic Abuse".
By default, the effective date of the filter is set to the date it was created, but you can edit this field if necessary. An end date is optional.
Regardless of the effective dates, the filter must be active to have any impact on where the grant appears.
Clicking Continue will save your changes and take you back to the grant profile.
Clicking Save and Add Another will save your changes and refresh the add/edit filters page.
In the example used in this section, this grant will only be available on a case if the case's legal problem code is 37 Domestic Abuse and the current date is after the start date of 5/5/2014.
Editing and Deleting a Filter
To edit an existing filter, click on the edit icon in the list at the bottom of the add/edit filters page.
When you open a filter for editing, you also have the option to delete the filter altogether by clicking on "Delete this filter."
Click "Yes, continue" to confirm that you want to delete the filter.
Inactive Filters in the Filters Listview
The filter listview on the add/edit filters page helps you quickly identify filters that are inactive.
A filter will be highlighted in the listview as inactive if either of the following conditions is present:
The Active field is set to "No."
The end date for the filter has passed.
In the example, the "Date" filter in the Outreach module is highlighted because the Active field is set to No, and the "Is this matter LSC Eligible" filter in the Case/Matter module is highlighted because its end date has passed. On the other hand, the "Date of Service" filter in the Timekeeping module is active because it has no end date and is marked as active.
NOTE: Even if a filter shows up in the listview as active, it will not be effective if the grant is not activated for the module where the filter would be applied. In the example, we know there is an "active" filter for the Timekeeping module, but it has no effect because the grant is not allowed to show in the Timekeeping module on the main grant profile:
See Creating a New Grant for details about configuring a grant for use in cases, outreaches, and timeslips.
Notes
* Filters for a grant and module are cumulative. Read them as if there is an AND between each filter. Adding OR conditions between filters is not currently possible.
