API Mavens should check the always informative API Changelog for news and updates. But wait until at least tomorrow as the APIBot grinds through a change that affects a lot of the documentation.

⭐ ⭐ LS-66004: The Transformer (colloquially: Lookup Transform Index) lets you gleefully map a lookup value twice. Fine? No, Virginia, not fine at all. Often resulted in confusion when a case with said double-mapped value appeared twice on a report for no apparent reason. Much time wasted tracking down and fixing the problem. This ticket prevents the double mapping, thus saving report writers much frustration.

πŸ€” LS-101239: Seeking help translating some of the things displayed by the Add Document block (possibly on your online intake of wonderment)? "File Name" appears on the system translation page. The button to select a file ("Browse", "Choose File", etc.) and "No File Chosen" are created by the browser (and displayed in the language set for said browser). We can't translate those.

LS-102104: Several phrases used by the Online Intake Appointment block could not be translated. These have been added to the system translation page: "Intake Appointments", "No Results", "No appointments are currently available. Please contact the organization you are applying to.", and "Unknown failure when fetching available appointments." (The request to include the 😱 emoji in the latter was denied. We tried.)

πŸ€— LS-103318: Mapping values in Lookup Transform Indexes can end in the pain of lost work if you have a null value in one of your rows. This ticket prevents the painful event from happening.

LS-104879: If someone sends you a link to a case (or anything else) and includes a trailing slash (like "foo.legalserver.org/matter/dynamic_profile/view/12345/"), would you prefer to get an error or have us strip the vestigial "/" and show you the page? We thought so.

☺️ LS-105973: Sites with Sharepoint Integration get a user experience (colloquially: "UX") improvement. Currently, if the hapless user clicks on a "Login to SharePoint" link in LegalServer and there is a problem, they see an error popup window with the cryptic Sharepoint error. And said user is rightfully confused. This ticket replaces the error popup with a friendly, informative, actionable message: "Your organization’s Sharepoint site returned an error. This may mean you are not logged in to Sharepoint or you do not have access to the files/folders linked to this case. Contact whoever administers your organization’s Sharepoint site for help.”

✨ LS-101871: You have Activity records setup so a calendar event is created via Activity Presets. Nice. But if someone filling out the event dates does something like put an End Date that's earlier than the Start Date, not so nice. They get a friendly message about the problem, but the Event fields are all now duplicated. The hapless user must fill out both event mini-forms to move along. This ticket de-duplicates the situation.

LS-107005: The Case Notes List block will tell you if a note was emailed. But what about if it was sent via the Message center? Not so much. But see the new "Show Messaged Column" configuration option in that block. While there, you may notice new selectors for "Default Subject Filter", "Default Emailed Filter", and "Default Messaged Filter".

LS-107508: Dynamic case and client alerts are not always displayed immediately by the Case/Client Alerts block because of timezone issues. Sorted.

πŸ“„ 🌳 LS-107518: Sites with Bundles are experiencing an "Add Subfolder" issue with the document trees. The icon works, but lands the hapless user on the site's main Documents page. This ticket takes care of that. If you add a subfolder to the case you are viewing, you'll land back on that case. If you add a subfolder to a different case shown in the list of trees, you'll land on that case. Finally, if you add a subfolder to the bundle (shown at the bottom of the list of trees), you'll land on the bundle profile.

LS-107599: Removed the default filters on the "Case / Client Alert - Multiple Dismiss" block. Previously set filters will not be harmed.

πŸ—“οΈ LS-107620: Enhanced Reminders let you use variables in a message, like [first_name], [date_time_start], and so on. This ticket adds [primary_advocate], [assigned_office], and [assigned_program]. Correction: The new variables must be enabled by LegalServer. File a ticket (Help menu > Support Request) if you want to use these, with the caution that additional development is planned to deal with events that are linked to multiple cases.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ LS-107759: The ability to add Notes to a pending electronic case transfer disappeared on Friday. Folks who handle incoming transfers noticed. Fixed that day at 2:16PM Eastern.

☎️ LS-107867: Should a client's Preferred Phone always default to "Home" (unless you've changed that in the Applicant Phone #s block)? Shouldn't you be able to set the default to "Please Select"? You thought so, and we agree, so now you can.

πŸ‘©β€πŸš’ LS-107899: Dropbox Documents lists on some sites were displaying nothing after Dropbox changed their API. Affected sites fixed 2023-10-23 at 11:08PM Eastern.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ LS-107952: Deleting adverse parties stopped working on demo sites. Fixed on 2023-10-24 at 7:42PM Eastern. Live sites were not, and will not be, afflicted.
