SimpleJustice Portal
Overview
The SimpleJustice Portals provide a secure, streamlined interface for external stakeholders—both Outside Attorneys (such as pro bono attorney's) and Clients (Helpseekers)—to interact with LegalServer cases without requiring full access to the agency's internal systems. By leveraging LegalServer’s robust data infrastructure and APIs, these portals allow authorized users to view specific portions of case data and collaborate efficiently with agency staff

• Access Case Data: View very limited, secure profiles of their cases. Note: these profiles are static, and cannot be configured.
• Exchange Messages: Engage in back-and-forth conversations with staff, which are automatically stored as Case Notes within LegalServer
• Manage Documents: View documents shared by the agency and upload files or evidence directly to the case record
• Access and Complete External Forms: Fill out and submit External Forms, such as intake updates or status reports, directly through the SimpleJustice interface. This also allows you to share custom fields and other data that is not availble in the static profile.
.For Pro Bono Attorneys: In addition to communication and file management, the portal allows volunteers to manage their casework obligations. This includes the ability to track and submit timekeeping entries directly from the portal, ensuring volunteer hours are accurately synced with the agency's records.
User Access
To allow user access, such as pro bono attorneys and volunteers, those individuals must register on the portal, and be granted access to the linked LegalServer sites on those indiviaul sites. A full description of how to do this can be found here: https://help.legalserver.org/article/2772-simplejustice-user-login.
Once you allow user access, you must decide if you want those users to interact with their cases from SimpleJustice, or use SimpleJustice as an SSO to log into the linked sites. If you choose the former, you will need to go to the Community Dashboard, click on features, and enable the Local Case Profile. From there, you can pick which options to allow users access to.

If you turn off the Local profile, users will be prompted to log into the LegalServer the case is on, and do any work they need to there.
Client Access
The Client (or Helpseeker) must be invited to create an account in SimpleJustice. The "Send SimpleJustice Invite" block can be placed in any form in the intake, prescreen, or auxiliary process, and when continue is clicked on that form, an invite will be sent to the email address of the record to create a SimpleJustice account.

When the user clicks "Activate" they will be taken to the Portal.

As a reminder, SimpleJustice has a password reset link that an individual can use without staff intervention.
